Restoration planning
Build an Ambassador restoration parts list sellers can answer
Organise an Amby restoration order by missing items, condition, measurements and workshop timing instead of sending an unclear request for a complete kit.
Divide the project into systems
Separate mechanical work, body repairs, rubber and seals, trim, interior and finishing items. Ask the workshop which jobs depend on others and which parts must be checked before paint or final assembly. A shopping list organised by system is easier for a seller to assess than a request for every Ambassador spare in one package.
Give each item its own line
For every item, record a part name, front or rear and left or right where relevant, quantity, readable reference and a photo of the old part or empty mounting position. Mark uncertain measurements as uncertain. Specify whether one piece, a pair or a complete set is needed. Ask what is actually included when a seller uses the word kit.
Record condition and originality separately
Decide whether a new replacement, old unused stock, refurbished item or used component is acceptable for each job. Ask for evidence behind genuine or original claims and for close-up photographs of damage, corrosion, rubber deterioration or repairs. A rare badge, a new box or a familiar paint colour does not prove condition, originality or compatibility.
Plan several sellers as several deliveries
A marketplace order may contain parts from different sellers with different dispatch times and shipping arrangements. Confirm the available quantity, package contents, shipping charge and expected dispatch for each listing. Keep packaging and inspect delivered parts before installation. Record shortages or damage promptly through the order support flow rather than modifying the item first.
