Identify your Ambassador before ordering — original illustration

Start with the documents

Record the model, manufacture year and engine shown in your vehicle documents. A registration year can differ from the manufacture year. Do not post an unredacted registration certificate, chassis number or address in a public listing.

Check what is fitted today

A restored Ambassador may have replacement engines, gearboxes, brakes or body panels. Ask your mechanic to confirm the installed assembly, fuel type and any conversions. Badges and exterior photographs alone cannot establish engine fitment.

Send a useful enquiry

Give the seller your model, engine, vehicle year, old part number and clear photographs of the part and connectors. Ask for dimensions and written fitment confirmation through your private support conversation before ordering.

General owner-care guidance. Follow the instructions for your actual assembly and replacement part. Stop if the fitting, condition or required specification is uncertain. Use a qualified mechanic for safety-critical systems or uncertain fitment.
