Ambassador clutch plates, gearbox & transmission spares
An Ambassador clutch kit is more than a product name. The clutch plate, pressure plate and release arrangement must match the installed engine and gearbox. Gearboxes, propeller shafts, differentials and axle parts also need assembly-specific identification, especially on restored or converted cars.
Check before ordering
- Record the fitted engine and gearbox and photograph any readable part numbers. Ask your mechanic which component actually needs replacement.
- For clutch components, compare the dimensions and spline details from the removed part with the seller’s measurements. Do not infer compatibility from the vehicle year alone.
- Check whether a kit includes the release bearing, related fittings or only the plate and pressure assembly. Used gearbox listings should describe testing and known defects.
Questions for the seller
Request written fitment confirmation and the exact contents of the package. A new part is not evidence that another worn assembly is serviceable. Use a qualified workshop for clutch, gearbox or driveline removal and installation.
